About Diane

Fitness Background

I have been active in sports since I was a kid.  I like trying new things to expand my athletic experience and to see just what I can achieve in sports unfamiliar to me.  My competitive athletic historysoftball, tennis, track and field, golf (tournament play), running (5k to 50K ultra endurance events - 2009 Way Too Cool 50K), triathlon events including Eppie's Ironwoman, cycling (road racing), catamaran (sailboat) racing, and bodybuilding (3 wins, including the 1997 AAU Ms. California Bodybuilding Champion at age 40. 

Currently, at the age of 52, I feel great, just completing my first ultra event, the Way Too Cool 50K.  My current passion is trail running.  To share this passion with others, in 2008 I started the Folsom Lake Trail Run Series for trail running/racing enthusiasts and the Folsom Trail Runners group (currently more than 300 members)

My Training Philosophy

My approach to training is to train the body as a whole; to include a variety of training methods that will ensure a well-balanced, strong body.  Designing training programs to help my clients achieve their fitness goals may include Strength/Resistance Training, Functional Training (training the whole body with movement, including balance, agility, speed, power and plyometrics), Cardiovascular Training (including Heart Zones training), Core Training and Stability Training (including medicine balls, stability balls, Bosu, balance disks, mat pilates and more).  Training methods will be specific to your level of fitness and goals.  If you are an athlete, my sport specific training will improve your performance.  Contact me to find out which program is right for you.

An important component of health and fitness is Nutrition.  As a certified Specialist in Performance Nutrition, I can help my clients achieve optimum health and performance.  Please see my Nutrition Programs.
